baseball stuff

So with the mid summer classic coming up shortly I have decided to write some interesting things bout the sport.

AL vs. NL:
This has been a topic of discussion for many years, should the whole league go to one format or the other. Lets let the stats speak for themselves shall we?
As far as the NL is concerned 32 Pitchers have scored a complete game while 17 of them have gotten shutouts, most of them coming from Cliff Lee who is 4 for 4 with an ERA of 2.66 for the year. In the AL there have been 33 pitchers with complete games and 16 of which have gotten a shutout. The AL leader in both categories has been James "Big Game" Shields with 6 CG and 3 SHO with and ERA of 2.45 for the year. As far as that is concerned they are pretty even, AL leaders for ERA and wins are C.C. Sabathia and Jason Verlander with 11 wins and jason Weaver with an impressive 1.97 ERA. In the NL the leaders in the categories are a three way time for wins with 10 Roy Halladay, Kevin Correia, and Jair Jurrjens as far as ERA is concerned Jurrjens leads the NL with 2.07.  So honestly keep things the way they are everything is working out fine the way it is.

future HoF inducties:
Jason Varitek should top all charts for this. Looking at his stats its average; .258 career BA, 1.277 Hits, 192 HR, 729 RBIs. Outside of that other stats set him apart from all other catchers by a coutry mile. Caught 4 no-hitters (MLB record), and before you get all high and mighty on me look at the names on the list; Hideo Nomo, Derek Lowe, Clay Buchholz (his 2nd career start), Jon Lester (following cancer rehab).... no Schilling, Beckett, Clemens. Three time All Star (03, 05, 08), Silver Slugger, Gold Glove. If he reitres after this season the first time he is eligible to be inducted it should be a hands down decision.

And now for something completely different, the beautiful and talented Avril Lavigne!!

Just down right amazing!!!
